Spider-Man: Brand New Day — More Than a Superhero Movie?

I went into Spider-Man: Brand New Day expecting another action-packed superhero film.

What I didn't expect was one of the saddest and most emotional stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Why did it hit me that way? And did the ending live up to everything that came before it?
