Mutiny: If the Jason Statham Formula Works, Why Change It?

Jason Statham is bald.

I'm bald.

He has a five o'clock shadow. I'm apparently working on one.

Basically, we're twins—except he was born in Derbyshire, England, and I was born in Flushing, New York. Close enough.

In Mutiny, Statham once again proves there is absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to a successful formula: bad guys do bad things, Statham wants revenge, asses get kicked, and somehow he's still incredibly likable through all of it.

Critics? Not so impressed.

Regular moviegoers? MUCH happier.

Considering some critics also liked Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, I'm comfortable siding with the regular people on this one.

🚗 Motor City: A Revenge Story That Deserved Better

Sometimes a movie sneaks into theaters with almost no fanfare, and you wonder if it's worth taking a chance. That was exactly my thought when I saw Motor City on the schedule.

I almost skipped it.

I'm glad I didn't.

Without spoiling anything, Motor City delivers more than I expected. The atmosphere, the sound design, the performances, and the tension all come together in a way that's best experienced on the big screen. It's one of those films that reminds you why movie theaters still matter.

But is it all engine and no horsepower? Does it live up to the premise? Is it worth buying a ticket before it disappears from theaters?

You'll have to watch my spoiler-free review to find out.
