Another anonymous visit from a #Nextdoor employee… but still no outreach.
About two hours ago (Nov 23, 2025 – around 3:22 PM Eastern), someone from #Nextdoor—this time a Software Developer—viewed my LinkedIn profile anonymously. That makes the fifth #Nextdoor employee to stop by recently.
And yet… not one message.
Not one email.
Not one attempt at dialogue.
So naturally, a few questions come to mind:
If you're looking at my profile… why not reach out?
What’s being planned behind the scenes?
How many more anonymous views will there be before someone decides to have a real conversation?
For a platform built on “connecting neighbors” and “strengthening community,” this cloak-and-monitor approach feels like the opposite.
My door is open. My contact info is public. My website is right there.
If the mission is truly community—then let’s talk like neighbors.

“You’re on a cruise. Enjoy it.

“But what if they’re in a bunker right now…
Plotting Version 12 of the ‘Delete Niel’s Comments’ initiative?
What if the intern is firing up the Commodore 64 again?”
GOOD NIEL:
“You don’t need to check LinkedIn every 30 seconds.”
EVIL NIEL:
“Oh? Oh???"
What if they post something absurdly ironic again?
Like a statement about ‘transparency’ or ‘open dialogue’?
I MUST BE READY.”
GOOD NIEL:
“Just breathe… eat dessert… enjoy the cruise…”
EVIL NIEL:
“Enjoy the cruise?!
HOW CAN I ENJOY THE CRUISE
WHEN #NEXTDOOR IS AT DEFCON SILENCE?!
Is the President pacing the war room?
Are the moderators knitting stress–sweaters??
Are they rationing the Boudin bread??”
GOOD NIEL:
“Maybe they’re finally afraid.
Maybe the Flammlandia betting comics broke them.”
EVIL NIEL:
“Or worse…
Maybe they’re plotting something BIGGER.
A new feature…
A new button…
A new policy called:
‘Automatic Removal of All Comments Written Within 500 Miles of Charleston.’”
GOOD NIEL:
“Or maybe… just maybe… You should get a refill on your coffee and go sit by the water.”
EVIL NIEL:
“…Fine.

A Jam-Packed Travel Day… and We’re Just Getting Started
Today has been one of those travel days — the kind that feels like three days in one. After bouncing through flights and finally touching down in Fort Lauderdale, I grabbed a Lyft straight to Port Everglades, ready to shift into cruise mode.
First stop? Butter Chicken. Because nothing fuels a long day of airports and chaos like comfort food, just as I sat down, a lady plowed into my chair like she mistook it for a gate agent. Travel bingo: Complete.
Fast-forward to dinner onboard — where I fully embraced cruise life by ordering not one but two main entrées (because why choose?). Now I’m finishing the night strong with a coffee and Lemon Tarts, taking in the energy of the Celebrity Reflection as we start this journey.
