Buddy: When a Children's Movie Stops Being Child's Play 🦄
I thought Buddy was a kids' movie. An orange unicorn singing songs and teaching life lessons? I figured I knew what I was getting into.
I was wrong.
One of the movie's earliest lessons is that you have to be scared to be brave. A simple message, but worth thinking about: bravery doesn't mean not feeling fear. It means finding a way forward despite it.
But Buddy takes that cheerful beginning somewhere I wasn't expecting. The story gets increasingly unhinged, the familiar starts to feel strange, and by the end, I'm questioning what I thought I understood.
Sometimes the movies we overlook surprise us most.

Come for the orange unicorn. Stay for the unexpected.
Or don't. 😉
Don't Move: A Church Camping Trip That Goes VERY Wrong 😱
What do you get when you mix A Quiet Place, Arachnophobia, and a little Alien?
Apparently… a church camping trip that takes a VERY unexpected turn. 😂
In Don't Move, a group heads out for a retreat, gets lost, and ends up somewhere they definitely weren't supposed to be.
It has a pastor, a bus driver played by Rob Riggle, some questionable decisions, and a mystery that slowly reveals why a detour can have serious consequences.
Starring Lyndsy Fonseca, Tom Cavanagh, and Rob Riggle, this movie mixes comedy with creepy moments and a little horror.
Did I find it terrifying? Did it make me laugh? And did that ending leave me thinking there could be a part two?
Let's just say I had ONE jump scare. 😳
It's not Oscar material, but sometimes you just want a movie that gets in, tells its story, and gets out.
But did Don't Move deliver?
